Chiaroscuro -- Shimmery Hand-Painted Silk Satin Scarf

Ahhh ... Chiaroscuro!

As an artist, I'm constantly aware of how light can influence the mood of a piece -- whether the work I am concentrating on is created on canvas, on film, or as in this case, a delicate stream of silk.

Standing back and looking at this hand-painted silk satin scarf, I couldn't help but think of the Italian word, "Chiaroscuro," (clear-dark) or in art terms, the "contrast between light and dark".

This silky satin scarf is subtlety hand-painted in several dark colors resulting in an "almost-black" appearance.

Further, chiaroscuro can be defined as "achieving a sense of volume in modeling three-dimensional objects such as the human body". As such, this satin scarf will wrap around you as if it was 'born' to make you shine!
